What do I need to bring?
We supply bowels, bedding and food. If your pet is on a special diet, please bring your own food and
amount you are giving e.g. 1 cup am and pm. Please bring your current vet vaccination card, if lost please get an up to date print out from your vet, if unsure what vaccinations your dog needs please phone your vet and explain they are coming into a kennel/cattery and they will advise what you need.
Why do you have set pick up and drop off times?
Our council licence specifies our pick up and drop off times and operating outside these can jeopardise the
future of our business.
Does my dog interact with other dogs?
If your dog is well socialised, we will let him/her interact with other dogs. We take a lot of time ensuring your dog is well settled and happy before we introduce them to new friends and most of them love the social
Dogs that prefer their own company get their own exercise area as we have 12 separate exercise areas.
Small and big dogs are socialised separately.
How much time will my dog spend outside?
A normal day consist of two long exercise times of up to 4 hours each session with a rest period in between, we love the dogs out as much as possible as they play and are much happier to go in at night as they are worn out from the days exercise
What food do we use?
Our main feed is Black Hawk which is a highly regarded dry food with an adult, puppy and grain free option. We also feed Mighty Mix biscuits and dog roll and a variety of treats. We feed twice a day, with the larger meal at night and separate the family dogs (ones that come in together) at meal times.
Can we come and inspect the kennels before booking in?
Yes of course! We welcome your visit and love showing people around, please phone first and make a time with us that suits. Tuesday to Thursday afternoons are usually the easiest for us.
My dog has come home dirty – why?
The dogs run around and play in the exercise areas which can be quite muddy when we have had a lot of rain – when playing some dogs jump on each other or have a friendly wrestle and many like to roll around in the grass or sand. Each dog is towel dried if they get wet, but they can still get a little dirty or smelly. We do offer a bath and brush service at $15.
Can I come in and settle my dog and set up his/her sleeping area?
No, we have found that people coming in and out of the kennel area increase the noise level dramatically and instead of helping the dogs settle in it increases anxiety levels for both dogs and parents.
How can I help my dog/cat settle in when it’s his/her first boarding?
You can bring them with when you come and view the kennels and we will let them walk around and sniff and get comfortable, if need be they can also come for a few day visits if the first stay is going to be a
The best thing you can do is not show them you are upset leaving. Just be happy, calm and leave them
quietly with us with no fuss, they soon settle once you are out of site and we give them lots of extra
attention to help them adjust.
